If you have a commercial bar cooler in your restaurant or food establishment, then I am sure it is one of your favorite commercial appliance because it not only saves on space, but it also keeps your beverages refreshing and cold so that they are always ready to be served whenever your patrons are ready to quench their thirst. While this type of restaurant equipment is great and reliable, every now and then they may break down and require some type of service.
Here is a list of typical commercial bar cooler repair problems:
It is freezing your beverages – either you need to adjust the thermostat or you could have a faulty thermostat that needs to be replaced.
The cooler is not turning on – if the unit is not turning on, then the first thing to check is to see if there is power going to it and to make sure that someone didn’t shut it off by accident or mistakenly plugged it out. Other causes could be that the circuit breaker tripped or a fuse is blown.
Not cooling – There could be several causes for this issue which include, a bad thermostat, the refrigerant level is too low, the evaporator coils are dirty, there could be dust or other objects blocking the condenser or the beverage cooler is located close to other equipment that give off heat such as the stove, oven or a steam table, so the environment is too warm for the cooler to function properly.
If you have a refrigerant leak or a bad compressor, then the cooler will blow out warm air. Also, if you notice that it is frequently turning on and off during the cycles, then that could be that someone is opening the door on a very frequent basis or leaving the door open for a long time, another cause could be just from a hot day, weather wise.
